Business Analyst

Job Responsibilities

The Business Analyst on the Video Software Integrated Design and Delivery team is responsible for ensuring that all video software feature requirements are translated into solid technical requirements. As a Business Analyst, you will work with both technical and non-technical teams on features for Spectrums video products. The right individual for this position will have a passion delivering strong technical requirements and taking business requirements to a technical level. They will also have an aptitude in flushing out possible technical gaps in the implementation of multiple video software components when delivering features as well as ensuring the completeness of all design documentation.

Job Responsibilities

  • Partners with various product groups to finalize video software business requirements.
  • Work closely with various technical teams on technical functional requirements for video software features.
  • Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business and user requirements from technical standpoint.
  • Works closely with various product teams on technical assessment of video software features.
  • Translate business requirements for video software features into high-level technical user stories.
  • Reviews all software design documentations for completeness and identification of any possible design gaps.
  • Serves subject matter expert on video software features technical implementation.
  • Helps define and implement software design documentation repository and standards.
  • Supports software design documentation standards across integrated design and delivery team.

Requirements

  • 5 + years working with software teams as business/technical analysis, test engineer, developer/engineer, or served in related technical roles
  • Experience writing technical user stories for complex software systems
  • Strong written/technical communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Visio)
  • Proven track record to work independently
  • Working knowledge and experience in agile software development practices
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of related education and experience

Desired Skills:

  • Experience utilizing Atlassian software (Jira, Confluence, etc.)
  • Experience working with large-scale enterprise software
  • Knowledge and/or experience working with micro-service architectures.
  • Strong experience developing objects and analyzing data
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Understanding of systems thinking principles
  • Cable and/or video experience a big plus
  • Knowledge of Relational and NOSQL databases
